Biography

Although born in Edmonton, Alberta, Kathryn grew up in Vancouver, BC where from a very young age she was fascinated with nature and wildlife, and regularly spent time hiking and camping with her family and appreciating BC’s natural landscapes. She moved back to Edmonton to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Biology at The King’s University, which she completed in 2023. Her time during her undergrad further solidified her passion and interest in ecological systems and conservation, as well as her interest in research. After graduation, Kathryn worked with Alberta Canola Producers Commission as their research coordinator, and she discovered she had a knack for research administration. Kathryn is very excited to now be a part of the DIVERSE project, as it is research that coincides with her own personal interests in forest ecology, and has real potential for beneficial change for how we manage our forests in Canada.
