Sara is a forestry engineer from Colombia with a PhD in Forest Sciences from the University of Eastern Finland. She is mainly interested in landscape ecology and ecological connectivity. In her PhD, she explored how the configuration and management of plantations can enhance the provision of connectivity and ecosystem services. She is excited to explore how to operationalize the concept of functional complex networks on the sites of the DIVERSE project and to develop management strategies together with the communities inhabiting these forests. On a different note, she loves birds and is training to become a bird ringer!
