Biography

Caroline is dedicated to advancing forestry practices in response to climate change by examining the interaction between abiotic events (like hailstorms and drought) and biotic factors (such as insects and diseases), and their impact on forest productivity. Her PhD research focuses on a foundational boreal tree species, trembling aspen, and how provenance, sex and growing environment influence aspen’s growth performance and drought response. Caroline’s aim is to provide novel insights for effective forest management strategies, such as assisted migration, amidst ongoing climate challenges.
