Biography

Kyle Dues is a PhD student at the University of Alberta. His academic background and field experiences have led him to focus on silviculture and stand dynamics, where he explores how forest management practices influence ecosystem structure and function over time. He is particularly interested in how different treatment regimes shape forest resilience, productivity, and biodiversity. What excites him most about the DIVERSE project is its potential for wide-reaching practical impacts. By exploring tree diversity and its effects on forest resilience, this research can directly inform sustainable management strategies across North America.
